Founded in 1991, The Butler Institute of American Art/Salem, 343 East State Street in Salem, is funded by the Salem Community Foundation. The facility, designed by regional architect Robert Buchanan, is housed in refurbished historic building located on the city's main street. The Butler Salem branch features four galleries, a classroom where instruction is offered to both children and adults, and a gift shop. The Butler Salem branch programming offers temporary exhibitions of the work of accomplished regional artists, exhibitions of work by prominent American artists, and exhibitions drawn from the Butler permanent collection. Butler Salem branch hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 11 am to 4 pm. Admission is free.

This juried exhibition presents works in the collage medium from across the nation. The Butler's Salem branch is funded by the Salem Community Foundation.

This solo exhibition features realist works in a variety of media by a New York painter who has received many
national awards for her work.

This exhibition, organized by the Butler Institute, focuses upon historic and contemporary artists' work created by Salem's artists who have attained national or regional reputation. The exhibition coincides with Salem's bicentennial celebration of the town's founding.
